I am ready for 2009. In 2004 I had a heart attack that put my life on hold for 5 years because it was in-operable and I had to slowly build up my strength again without causing another heart attack.

In 2008, this past fishing season I got one time, with my wife to baby sit me, and had a great time. It was hard to keep from actually breaking down in tears. I never thought I would live to get back out and enjoy my favorite hobby.

We had borrowed a friend’s car for the day. I had to sell our car when I was told I wasn’t allowed to drive, so after that one day out I didn’t think I would likely get another day out in 2008. But…

… I didn’t foresee making a new fishing buddy from one of my fishing blogs. His name is Jamie and he has a couple of daughters he wanted to take fishing but he wanted to be sure they would have a great day so he contacted me through the comments and ask if I would give up the location of a great bass spot I had been talking about.

Well my life was literally changed when I was 8 and a foster child with little hope and some one took time out of their busy life to take this hurting kid fishing. That was the biggest day in my life, even more so than my wedding day as I don’t believe I would have ever lived long enough to enjoy true love.

So if some one tells me they want to take a kid fishing I will bend over backwards to help make it happen.

I would say they had a great day, Jamie even sent me some pictures.

Then to make things even better Jamie asked if I would like to go fishing and that was the start of good friendship.
